Mariners Prove They Can Do It Too

Not only are the Mark Lodges of the Province of Durham throwing their weight behind the Durham 2029 MBF Festival, but our Royal Ark Mariner Lodges are showing that just as much support will come from them too.

It was an evening of celebration for Bede Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No.605 at Chester-le-Street, as W Bro William Finkle became Worshipful Commander in the sincere and dignified ceremony characteristic of this wonderful degree. No sooner had William taken the chair, he exercised his Commander's prerogative and requested the Lodge make a donation to the Festival. A cheque for £50 was presented at the festive board to W Bro Colin Raine, Provincial Grand Junior Warden representing the Deputy Provincial Grand Master in Charge at the installation meeting, which winged its way to members of the Festival Committee who happened to be in attendance. In doing so, Bede Lodge became the first Royal Ark Mariner Lodge in the Province of Durham to make a donation to the Festival.

Well done, Bede Lodge! We hope to see your members at the Festival Launch in January!

Every donation, no matter how large or small, will be thankfully received. After all, the dripping tap will fill the bath.
